I decided to try a 1911 from stainless castings. I want to do a .40 S&W all stainless, maybe polished with lightly blasted accents... I dont own a 1911 or have access to one so that doesn\'t help. Its a definitely a learning experience so far! First pic is the raw casting, second is with the top rails squared up, fly cut and sanded to almost the finished dimension, third is after the hole locations and some of the machining done. Thats where im at so far...

That looks great Dave. I didn\'t know that castings were available for a project like this one.

He somehow found a new source for a lot of parts and plans.
There are a lot more castings for a lot more items out there. For me I\'m going to keep working on this Gatling project.

I cnc\'ed some grips out yesterday, out of walnut... My first actuall part on a cnc from drawing to part!

I gave up on the slide. I did finish the frame and bought a slide that needed fit.

I was scared and started running these at 25 IPM, The last grip, I had it up to 60 IPM!

Yes, im still learning.... CAD/CAM SUCKS!!!!

I hope to test fire this thing in a few....
