Time to get my feet wet.

Well, I now have everything to start on my RG-G gatling. The box cam is finished and now for the easy stuff. I dread doing repetative work, so it might be a while before I post another picture of the bolts.

The cam looks good! Don\'t worry there is still a lot of non-repetative work ahead for you.

Have fun! I started on my barrels today, drilled out the liners and inserted the barrels.  Will do the soldering and threading tomorrow. My liners were a little short on;y 24 1/2\", they were supposed to be 26 according to my parts list from Paul.

Cam looks good! Im going to get back on mine soon, I got so sick of making 10 of everything!!!!

The carrier block and barrel plates went ok. Still finishing the barrel plates. I have a 7/16 hexagon broach to put the hex in the pieces.

Got the 10 barrels cut to length and reamed out for the barrel liners. Half way through the barrels I had to buy an 8 inch new 3 jaw chuck just to make it exciting again. Oh yah, and 2 energy drinks also. I am not sure on the outer finish on the barrels if I should polish and then blue or sand blast and then parkerize them.

Where did you find the tube for the magazine base?

I got the tube and some other pieces from RG-G (Paul). He sells complete material sets also.

Whew, the barrels were pushing me to my limits on repetative work. They are now finished as far as operation goes, just some polishing and blueing to do at a later time.

Looking good! I hope to finish my barrels this weekend.

I turned the chamber ends with a 45 degree bevel like yours. I think that is a good idea and can\'t imagine anything to go wrong with the bevel.

Did you complete the main drive shaft? If so I noticed a small hole 2\" deep and threaded in one end on the plans. Do you know what it is used for?

The slot is for a pin to engage with the drive gear and the hole in the end is for a spring and set screw to hold the pin in place. The slotted hole is needed for headspace adjustments allowing the entire barrel cluster to move forward or rearward.

Thanks.  I guess I need to study all the plans to see how the parts all work together. I started building parts in order of the plans.

The frame and breech casing are going farly smoothly. I welded the frame pieces in the front with a wire feed and it seems that everything happens so fast once the trigger is pulled on the mig that it is difficult to control the weld because your at the end of it just when you can see where you are at. I have not done any silver soldering on the breech casing yet, but will after some practice on some scrap pieces.

Anybody else that is planning to use ready made wagon wheels on there RG-G may want to lengthen there trail by a couple of inches so the gun base plate will be level when using the one inch taller wheels. This completely slipped my mind when making the trail so, I am thinking about adding a brass skid under the hitch (trail) to raise it a little bit. More to come soon.

All most can see the finish line down range. Had to do a dry run assembly to see how everything fits. Still need to do some hitch work and the seat plus finish mounting the magazine and ejector.

Looks good and nearly complete, when do you anticipate firing it.
