Clausing lathe rebuild
« on: October 11, 2015, 06:33:48 PM »

I landed a smoking deal on a Clausing 12 by 48, tooling, 3 chucks, and a truck load of stuff. The shop that owned it put new headstock bearings and belts in it. Only drawback, some flunkie brush painted it with latex... I went thru everything! Primed and painted everything, spray on bed liner on the chip tray, some new gears, lots of new bolts, one new leadscrew and misc stuff. Anyway heres a bunch of pics :)

Since the pics were taken, I did get the drawers painted and back in. And I had to make a new gib for the compound. Also put a quick change tool post on ... Cheers!
