I was going to make a from \"scratch\" miniature horizontal/vertical band saw. One of my buddies was throwing this out, I figured it would be a good start! I need to find a motor and controller for it.Not exactly from scratch, but a whole lot easier!

That will be a nice little saw.

I converted my horizonal into a vertical for cutting some sheet metal.

Once I learn a little more about vfd motors and controllers, my little atlas 618 lathe will have one also!

Yes, I butched out the motor from my wifes old tread mill for my lathe also. Need to get that set up someday so I can go back to threading on the lathe. Since I did the CNC conversion, I have to thread everything by hand.

I bought this http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Industrial- ... 2c61838ae4

Should be perfect to run a saw at slow speeds. Variable speed control already on it!

Going to be easier than I thought. With the adjustment screw, it sits right where its needed. I took the bottom plate off of the saw. I will mount everything on aluminum plate.

The original pulley needs bored out to fit the shaft. Before it was a press fit onto the shaft. Im thinking it may need more , like a key way or set screw?
