Hex broach or Keyway

Would a Key broach work instead of the Hex broach in the carrier and other parts?  Using either a woodruff key of just a regular keystock ?


 


I noticed some people had a Hex insert pressed in for the drive.  I assume this is not a deep well socket where can you purchase this item and what is it called ?

A hex holed sleeve if what your after. Reid tool sells them. Probably other suppliers as well....


 


You can get them in square too. Welcome to the forum!
