Here is a picture of my 1.5 sized project. What you see in the background is the reason I am so slow at getting this posted for you! Well at least I thought I could do it???

Sorry folks I have tried everything I can think of and have not been able to get a picture to post. I am going to tear it apart and start a rebuild with a different carrier & bolts than the plans. Try to get closer to an original on the internal workings.

It is actually mounted on an old variable speed combine hub. The CH Gleaner combine had a variable speed and the hub was solid brass so I just shaped the brass hub and used the sheave for a base. These combines were sitting in junkyards all over the country till the high scrap prices. These hubs make good project stands. Thanks Dave for putting my pictures up for me! Hoping to start internal rebuild when combine is done and Christmas fun is done.

Looked at a Sako style extractor today. I feel it could be made to work fairly simply but am a little concerned it may hang on to cartridge a little to tight. I have never been able to see in my mind how these things get the empties to clear out without jamming things up. Frank I spotted your project yesterday...wow....to be able to build something that nice is a gift...Very nice! When you got it to fire did the spent casings clear out the way they were supposed to? I confess I built a RGG Gatling 1st and it works but extraction is tricky on it also. It\'s all more fun than working on combines though.

Yes the extractor worked very well, unfortunately the strength of it leaves much to be desired.  It works well because gravity drops the casing out the bottom of the gun, no ejector needed.
