I like the polished look, but all that polishing drives me nuts. I put the electric drill to the crank shaft to wear in the bolts, and it runs very well.

When we started this project, I had no machinery, or tools about a year ago. Now I have an old Bridgeport mill and a used 13x36 lathe. Plus a lot of tooling to go with it. I'm trying to get this gun in shooting condition before I work further along on the other ones. That way the bugs should be out of everything. I would like to thank everyone for all the positive comments, its been a fun project.

Wait a second... That does not look right... canemaker you cleaned up under the gat!!

It's been a fun learning group also. We have machines in 4 different locations but we end up doing most of the work at canemakers. That said, canemaker  I'll stop by on the way home from work today to show you the new barrels that I just received. My place Thursday night while the Wife's are at choir, so we can set my mill and rotary table up to work on adding the hex's to all of the rest of the barrels.

More pics of canemakers build

page three of the following link has a few pics that show the gat and the carrying box that he made for it. Fits real nice in his car.

canemaker -- Thanks for what you are doing as this would have been a MUCH harder build without you leading the way.

How?? Did this group get started?? Maybe a quick statement about that. canemaker and his Wife hosted the Church Choir party last year and canemaker and I first met and then he showed several of us at the party a set of gatling gun plans that he had laying around gathering dust. Well I stated that I also had a set of gatling guns plans gathering dust. His set were a few years older than mine. Mine had been gather dust for about 5 years or more, so. Well I got to talking and the next thing that you know I had a group of 5 people interested in building a gatling gun. Few months later 1 dropped out, but we just allowed another person to step up and replace him so we are back to 5 folks again. Lots more details here and there but main thing is that with the 5 of us we kind of help each other in many different ways. canemaker is the main lead and Teacher to all of us, THANKS AGAIN!

If anyone has questions about canemakers build then ask him because he really is great in showing the how what where and why on this. He and I have had a lot of great meetings and spent more than a few hours talking about doing things this way and that way. He is kind enough to listen and find the best way for us to do things.
